And soft machine 6....too, there is a fantastic track,which name is:chloe
and the pirates if my memory is good... it's ambient before ambient
existed under that name... there is a
saxophone playing inside.. ouaaa... aerial...;transcendant and so on... i
stop there in superlatives : - )
but guys... don't forget tangerine dream... the last ones are definitely
not worth the buy
but the early ones in the seventies....
i 'am thinking of Logos, or Encore, or Green desert (issued in 73) ,and
last but not least...
Pergamon, a live issue in berlin in 1980 , this is ,according to me..the
tadream
record to buy ,if any.

Hello PT-ers:
I have been enjoying the fusion talk, while we're
waiting for the next PT cd and the announcement
of the American tour dates.
Julian mentioned Soft Machine, all I can say is
they are a must listen. he also mentioned Nucleus
with Ian Carr another one, to round out your collection.
When No-Man needs a real trumpet they call Ian Carr.
and 'Sweetside Silver Night' is built on a classic Nucleus
riff.
Weather Report "I Sing The Body Electric" is a monster.
I saw that tour in Philly way back when.
Return To Forever "Hymn to the 7th Galaxy" another classic.
I saw them with Focus, the Netherlands first breakthrough
band. In my collection away.
the birth of this fusion thing was Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew"
the early years of fusion were really exciting. and In England
Soft Machine, Nucleus and Matching Mole didn't have to take
a back seat to anyone !!!
